Have you ever been in one of those huge wildlife stores and smelled the roasting candied nuts?
I think that they smell heavenly.
Well, this recipe comes pretty close to that heavenly smell,
but you luckily get more than just a little bag.
My family goes crazy for them and I had to make 3 different batches this year so that I could get a picture of them.
Candied Pecans
4 cups of pecan halves (you could use other nuts also)
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon water
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In a large bowl, combine egg whites, water, and pecans. Stir until well covered. In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour over pecans and mix well.
Spread pecans on a baking sheet in a thin layer and bake for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 20-30 minutes. Allow to cool and place in an air-tight container.
Enjoy,
Your recipes are very good!!! I love all!
